What We Do

Our Statesville Services

Q: How Often Should I Have My Hearing Tested?

A: Adults should have baseline hearing tests at age 50, then, every 3 years until age 60, and annually thereafter. If you have risk factors like noise exposure or family history, more frequent testing may be recommended.

Q: What Happens During A Hearing Test?

A: Comprehensive hearing evaluation includes medical history review, visual examination of ears, pure tone audiometry, speech testing, and discussion of results and recommendations.

Q: How Long Does A Hearing Test Take?

A: A complete hearing evaluation typically takes 45-60 minutes, including consultation time with Dr. Rossi to discuss your results and options.

Q: How Much Do Hearing Aids Cost?

A: Hearing aid prices vary based on technology level and features, typically ranging from $1,200 to $4,000 per device. We offer financing options and accept many insurance plans.

Q: How Long Do Hearing Aids Last?

A: With proper care and maintenance, hearing aids typically last 5-7 years. Regular cleaning, professional maintenance, and protecting from moisture extend their lifespan.

Q: What Causes Tinnitus?

A: Tinnitus has many possible causes including hearing loss, noise exposure, medications, earwax buildup, medical conditions, and stress. A comprehensive evaluation helps identify the underlying cause.

Q: Will My Insurance Cover Hearing Aids?

A: Coverage varies by insurance plan. Medicare typically covers hearing tests but not hearing aids. Many private insurance plans offer some hearing aid benefits. We’ll verify your benefits before treatment.

Q: Can Tinnitus Be Cured?

A: While there’s no universal cure for tinnitus, many effective treatments can significantly reduce symptoms and improve quality of life. Treatment success depends on the underlying cause and individual factors.

Q: Do I Need A Referral For Balance Testing?

A: Yes, balance testing requires a physician referral. We work closely with your doctor to coordinate testing and treatment recommendations.

Q: What Should I Expect During Balance Testing?

A: Balance testing may include eye movement analysis, positional testing, and balance platform assessments. The testing is non-invasive and typically takes 1-2 hours.

“If you’re having any hearing issues, come to carolina hearing. They have the most friendly and helpful staff I have ever had the pleasure of interacting with. They truly go above and beyond to help their patients. The office staff is wonderful and the audiologist are fantastic. After bringing my 86 year old Dad for hearing aids I knew I had found a great place that actually cares about their patients; what a rare find! I whole heartily and very highly recommend Carolina Hearing and Tinnitus”
